Who are the sheep and the goats? Matthew 25 31-46
Scripture Reference: Matthew 25:31-46:
Coming back to the Cross: Who are these sheep and goats?
Read Luke 23:32-33
What do they look like?
Read Luke 23:39-43.... what happened here (repentance or rebellion) marks the beginning of everything else. Our choice to either accept the sacrifice of Jesus or reject it is the difference between Heaven and Hell and when we accept it we must be aware of this. Like the rebel on the cross, we must be fully aware that we are accepting something we absolutely do not deserve and by no means could ever earn. It is from this place that true gratitude is birthed and selflessness begins to arise. It is from this place that every valley is raised up; and every mountain leveled (Matt 23:12): Where who is the ‘least’ or the ‘greatest’ in this life becomes irrelevant (for all have sinned) and where, whether we’re doing for the ‘least’ or for the ‘greatest’, we’re doing for Jesus (Matt 25:31-46). Therefore if I do not, like this criminal, embrace my cross, I am in danger of losing everything else. Matt 16:25; Matt 21:44.
We are not of this world: when we stop thinking like them, we will start to look like Jesus. What does this look like;- when we feed and clothe the least of these? Surely it looks like the Gospel of the Kingdom; when we show others the Way of Salvation (Matthew 5:6); as Jesus showed the criminal in those final moments on the cross.
For He is looking for a Bride that has made herself ready; that has come through the furnace of testing and has not compromised with the world: She was bound when she went in, but her Lord: The Great Shepherd, was with her; He led her all the Way to the other side; when she passed through the Fire, her bonds were burned and broken- but she was not!
It is a Body that, fully hidden in Christ, has overcome the world, that will cause the Lord to ride out from Heaven with the blast of the trumpet and the voice of the arch angel.... Btw my own post has convicted me!
