The Spirit of The Lord is upon Me

Luke4:18-19... “The Spirit of the Lord God is upon me, because the Lord has anointed me to bring good news to the poor; he has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives,  and the opening of the prison to those who are bound; to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor...”  Jesus, as he stands to read in the synagogue, is quoting from Isaiah 61. Before reaching the final component of this prophesy however, Jesus stops, roles up the scroll and sits down to teach; He begins with this statement: “Today this Scripture has been fulfilled in your hearing.” Compare Luke 4:18-19 with Isaiah 61:1-2  So why did Jesus leave off this one final component?...  Because the time for God’s vengeance had not yet come... ...Because Jesus had come as the sacrifice of Genesis 22:8:- The Lamb that the LORD Himself would provide;  ...As the Messiah of Isaiah 53:-To bare our griefs and carry our sorrows; to give His life as an offering for sin;   ...As ...

  Luke 17:11-19 - Ten Lepers Healed Luke 17: 15 - And one of them, when he saw that he was healed, turned back, and with a loud voice glorified God. And he fell on his face at His feet giving thanks. Luke 17:17 - And Jesus answering said, "Were there not ten cleansed?  But where are the nine? Luke 17:19 - And He said unto him, "Arise, go thy way. Thy faith has made thee  whole " The Greek word for whole here is Soso - meaning to keep safe and rescue from danger or destruction  (Hell). When Jesus walked the Earth he healed many people of all kinds of physical ailments. But His desire, and the desire of the Father who sent Him, was to do so much more than that.  As God in a human body, Jesus met the physical needs of the people. to prepare their hearts for the great work of salvation and healing needed in their  souls  that, through his sacrifice on the cross, he yearned so much to give them - and us.  Ten lepers were physically healed, but only one...
