***Very few understood. Even fewer seemed able to link scriptures such as Isaiah 53 to a suffering Messiah…likely because they did not want to…so it was hidden from them (see also Daniel 9:25-26)- The truth would not be fully revealed until after the Sacrifice was made, by which time satan would be powerless to do anything about it. (He had been watching Israel and Abraham’s seed closely, ever since the declaration of Genesis 3:15) Now we who live under the New Covenant, are living in the fulfillment of this Sacrifice- How blessed we are! (see 1Peter 1:10-12)***
