Finding Jesus in Isaiah 53

Finding Jesus Part I

Isaiah 53:1 Who has believed what he has heard from us?

And to whom has the arm (strength) of the Lord been revealed?

See:

John 1:10-14;

John12:37-41

***Who would know…

that the power of God to deliver and save, would appear in such humanity and humility?✝️

This was hidden from everyone- especially satan, who would not have imagined, in his prideful state, that anyone, much less Almighty God, would abase himself so completely (Romans5:6-8)***

2  For he grew up before him like a young plant, and like a root out of dry ground:

Isaiah 6:13;

John1:46;

Isaiah 9:1-2 (Matt4:14-15)

***The northern region of Israel (including Galilee) was far removed from sophisticated Jerusalem and Judaea, and it suffered greatly after the Assyrian invasion…it was repopulated with surrounding pagan peoples -  and some of them never left.***

Philippians 2:6-8

He had no form or majesty that we should look at him, and no beauty that we should desire him. Isaiah 11:1...Here he is not even recognized as the Son of David...” - but referred to as “the stump of Jessie”, (Matthew 13:55-57)

3  He was despised and rejected by men,

Psalm 22:6-8...

***This is what we call a Messianic psalm...a type and shadow of Yeshua the Messiah...written (and lived out) by King David...a thousand years before it would fully come to pass, in Jesus the Son of David.***

1 Peter2:4

a man of sorrows and acquainted with grief; Luke19:41-44;

John11:33-38 (Read John11:1-44)

and as one from whom men hide their faces

he was despised, and we esteemed him not.

Matthew 23:37;

John 16:32;

John19:15;

Mark14:50(a)

To be continued…
