Walk Before Me and Be Holy

 Malachi 2:4–6


ESV


4 So shall you know that I have sent this command to you, that my covenant with Levi may stand, says the LORD of hosts. 5 My covenant with him was one of life and peace, and I gave them to him. It was a covenant of fear, and he feared me. He stood in awe of my name. 6 True instruction was in his mouth, and no wrong was found on his lips. He walked with me in peace and uprightness, and he turned many from iniquity. (Referring to the whole tribe of Levi - the ministers and keepers of God’s House)

Proverbs 9:10


Father, is this not also our commission?…Is this not also how we should appear to the world…how you desire us to be. That we would walk before you in holiness Lord…bringing the Gospel of Salvation in truth, love and the fear of the Lord…that the world would see and know that you are holy. For how will they know unless we are telling them…how will they see unless we are showing them.

A Tail of Two Covenants   Genesis 15:1-6  After these things the word of the  Lord  came to Abram in a vision:  “Fear not, Abram, I am  your shield; your reward shall be very great.”  2  But Abram said, “O Lord  God , what will you give me, for I continue  childless, and the heir of my house is Eliezer of Damascus?”  3  And Abram said, “Behold, you have given me no offspring, and  a member of my household will be my heir.”  4  And behold, the word of the  Lord came to him: “This man shall not be your heir;  your very own son  shall be your heir. 5  And he brought him outside and said, “Look toward heaven, and number the stars, if you are able to number them.” Then he said to him, “So shall your offspring be.” 6 And he believed the LORD, and he counted it to him as righteousness.
