Psalm 139

 #biblestudy Psalm 139 Part 3 of 3

Continued from previous post…David also sees himself as a part of this…👇

19 Oh that you would slay the wicked, O God!

    O men of blood, depart from me!

20 They speak against you with malicious intent;

    your enemies take your name in vain.

21 Do I not hate those who hate you, O Lord?

    And do I not loathe those who rise up against you?

22 I hate them with complete hatred;

    I count them my enemies.

(Is David hateful. Biblical evidence tells us no. David’s zeal for  ONLY God, is as yet incomplete, without the perfect Law of Love that will come through the Cross. I believe he is looking more at the source…the antichrist system that these people represent- See Revelation 9:20-21)

***This can be hard to read, but shows us exactly why The Lord has chosen David to rule over the City of God, in Ezekiel 37:24-25.

Ezekiel 34:23-24;

Revelation 20:1-6

At the renewal of all things (Matt19:28) following the defeat of Antichrist, this dwelling place of God…to which all the nations of the earth will stream…will unquestionably be ruled in holiness and righteousness.  Evil will no longer be tolerated…The Bible makes this clear…and David will preside as Prince over it.

And yet, for now…

23 Search me, O God, and know my heart!

    Try me and know my thoughts!

24 And see if there be any grievous way in me,

    and lead me in the way everlasting!

***David knows how important purity and humility is, in his position under God. For David (and all of us) this way everlasting is a narrow Way of Salvation, in a world that is literally being enveloped in evil.

Lord, keep us hidden in You, the cleft of the Rock…that at the moment of your return, we would be found waiting…but not be found wanting.
