Psalm 148 Praise the Lord!

David’s vision of victory, cont.

1 Praise the Lord from the heavens;

   Praise him! - in the heights!

2 Praise him! - all his angels;

   Praise him! - all his hosts!

3 Praise him! - sun and moon,

   Praise him! - all you shining stars!

4 Praise him! - you highest heavens,

    and you waters above the heavens!

***The strength…the unity…the healing…the joy…the peace…the freedom…

that sound, at the end of all time…

of a creation liberated and resurrected by its Creator;

that sound, at the end of all time…

which we will be a part of.

Hallelujah!

(Romans 8:20-22)***

5 Let them praise the name of the Lord!

    For he commanded and they were created.

6 And he established them forever and ever;

    he gave a decree, and it shall not pass away.

*** Col 1:16-17 For by him all things were created, in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities—all things were created through him and for him. And he is before all things, and in him all things hold together.

To acknowledge that Jesus Christ is in fact God…and that God is LORD and Creator - of everything…is the absolute foundation of all other knowledge (Proverbs 1:7)***

Psalm 148 cont.

7 Praise the Lord from the earth,

    you great sea creatures and all deeps,

8 fire and hail, snow and mist,

    stormy wind fulfilling his word!

***Possibly a reference to the forces of tribulation in Matthew 24:30-31 & Revelation 7***

9 Mountains and all hills,

    fruit trees and all cedars!

10 Beasts and all livestock,

    creeping things and flying birds!

11 Kings of the earth and all peoples,

    princes and all rulers of the earth!

12 Young men and maidens together,

    old men and children!

***because we have been given this earth on loan…it’s elements on lease from The Lord…and it’s expiry date is coming!

…And yet - “the creation waits with eager longing for the revealing of the sons of God.”

(Romans 8:19, 23-24)***

13 Let them praise the name of the Lord,

    for his name alone is exalted;

    his majesty is above earth and heaven.

***A message that will resonate into the third temple (millennial) era…at the renewal of all things (Matthew 19:28)***

14 He has raised up a horn for his people,

    praise for all his saints,

    for the people of Israel who are near to him.

***In the end, He will defend His chosen people…and save all who cry out to Him for mercy.***

Praise the Lord!
