Psalm 145
A Song of Praise. Of David.
Psalm 145
Part 1
vs.1 I will extol you, my God and King,
and bless your name forever and ever.
vs.2 Every day I will bless you
and praise your name forever and ever…
Forever?…How?
David has seen from afar ✝️ the resurrection of the dead…he has also believed…and this is how he can now declare with confidence that…
”my flesh also dwells secure.
For you will not abandon my soul to Sheol,
or let your holy one see corruption.”
This is why he says…
“My heart is glad, and my whole being rejoices;
(Read Psalm 16:9-11)
vs.3 Great is the Lord, and greatly to be praised,
and his greatness is unsearchable.
vs.4 One generation shall commend your works to another,
and shall declare your mighty acts…
How?…
Deuteronomy ch.6:5-7
Psalm 71:17
vs.5 On the glorious splendor of your majesty,
and on your wondrous works, I will meditate.
vs.6 They (all generations) shall speak of the might of your awesome deeds,
and I will declare your greatness…
***When we do this…when we boldly and with confidence, declare the redemption of the Lord to the generations…of whatever portion of the earth we have been dealt…we, like David, are also helping to shape history…and in the only way that really matters - the Way of Salvation***
vs.7 They shall pour forth the fame of your abundant goodness
and shall sing aloud of your righteousness. 🎉🎺🎉
***Why? Because the Lord has made Atonement…not only for Israel, but the nations of the earth.
This is the celebration of the Cross.***
vs.8 The Lord is gracious and merciful,
slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love.
Exodus 34:6;
Psalm 103:8
vs.9 The Lord is good to all,
and his mercy is over all that he has made.
2Peter3:9
