Thank you for the day…

So much to be thankful for…

Lamentations 3:22-24
The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; his mercies never come to an end;
they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.
“The Lord is my portion,” says my soul,    “therefore I will hope in him.”

Exodus 16:13-31
21 After this the people gathered the food MORNING by MORNING each family according to its need.

Matthew 6:19-34
34 “Therefore do not be anxious about tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for itself. “Sufficient for the day is its own trouble”.

Give us this day our DAILY  bread - Matthew 6:11 (See also Matthew 15:26 - for me this “daily bread” has also included healing.

The lord has been quickening these scriptures to me because he wanted to remind me that he has everything we need for today - and ONLY today! Whether it is protection, strength, wisdom, favor, provision (including financial) and even healing. I have been trusting the Lord for healing for myself and Joe, only for today- and not worrying about or praying about tomorrow, until tomorrow becomes today.

We must allow the Lord to take care of our tomorrows - because only he can. “Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.”(Matthew 6:34) But for me, prayer was becoming such a heavy weight and burden because I was taking on burdens that were beyond the present day. There is a reason why he says in Matthew 11:28-30
“Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.”

We were only meant to walk with him one day at a time! He holds our today’s- and our tomorrow’s.
Literally trusting in the Lord for everything…on a daily - and sometimes hourly basis is the best way to develop an intimate relationship with the Lord: This is how we become completely reliant upon him, as a child with their Father.

This is how we realize that every day we have something to be thankful for; how every day we realize that we are seeing miracles, because every day we become aware of the Lord’s hand in everything!
This is also how we build our faith.

Of course, it doesn’t mean that we shouldn’t plan ahead: But tomorrow does not belong to us; it belongs to the Lord
and when we realize this…
Now we can petition the Lord each morning with confidence; because we know His mercies are brand new - and as he kept us yesterday, he will today. Because tomorrow is his business - not ours. Now EVERY day we have a testimony; every day is  a miracle.
