Notes on Ephesians

Ephesians  Ephesians 1: 9  making known[ c ] to us the mystery of his will, according to his purpose, which he set forth in Christ  10  as a plan for the fullness of time, to unite all things in him, things in heaven and things on earth. As a posed to the Tower of Babel, where humanity seeks to unite themselves together in spite of God - to be like God 20  that he worked in Christ when he raised him from the dead and seated him at his right hand in the heavenly places,  21  far above all rule and authority and power and dominion, and above every name that is named, not only in this age but also in the one to come.  22  And he put all things under his feet and gave him as head over all things to the church,  23  which is his body, the fullness of him who fills all in all. What is his age to come? Revelation 20:1-6 2: 5  even when we were dead in our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ—by grace you have been saved—...

Notes on Galatians

Galatians 1 3  Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ,  4  who gave himself for our sins to deliver us from the present evil age, according to the will of our God and Father, 5  to whom be the glory forever and ever. Amen. we are still waiting on this physical deliverance (as described in 1Thess.4) which tells us that we are still in the age that Paul is describing. 24  And they glorified God because of me. This should be the purpose of our testimony; and the purpose and testimony of us all. Ch.2 2  Then after fourteen years I went up again to Jerusalem with Barnabas, taking Titus along with me.  2  I went up because of a revelation and set before them (though privately before those who seemed influential) the gospel that I proclaim among the Gentiles, in order to make sure I was not running or had not run in vain. Although Paul received revelation and authority as an Apostle, directly from the Lord, he made hi...

Notes on 1&2Corinthians

2Corinthians1 7  Our hope for you is unshaken, for we know that as you share in our sufferings, you will also share in our comfort. Why does God allow us to suffer? That we may be comforted; he does not entirely shield us from the tribulation of this world, but rather, in him we are exposed to it; that we will run from this world, and toward Him. That we will be Christ’s possession in the midst of this dark world (John 17:9-19) 9  Indeed, we felt that we had received the sentence of death. But that was to make us rely not on ourselves but on God who raises the dead.  10  He delivered us from such a deadly peril, and he will deliver us. On him we have set our hope that he will deliver us again. 3 12  Since we have such a hope, we are very bold, 13  not like Moses, who would put a veil over his face so that the Israelites might not gaze at the outcome of what was being brought to an end.  So the “outcome” of this first covenant…this first glory…is Christ...

Notes on Romans

Romans 1:1 Paul, a servant[ a ] of Christ Jesus, called to be an apostle, set apart for the gospel of God, Notice how Paul calls himself first a servant - then an apostle  3  concerning his Son, who was descended from David[ b ]according to the flesh  4  and was declared to be the Son of God in power according to the Spirit of holiness by his resurrection from the dead, Here is a mystery: Whereby Jesus meets the criteria; for being both the Son of Man and the Son of God. Romans 2 6  He will render to each one according to his works:  7  to those who by patience in well-doing seek for glory and honor and immortality, he will give eternal life;  8  but for those who are self-seeking[ a ] and do not obey the truth, but obey unrighteousness, there will be wrath and fury. 9  There will be tribulation and distress for every human being who does evil, the Jew first and also the Greek,  10  but glory and honor and peace for everyone wh...
