1&2Timothy

 Ch.1

3 As I urged you when I was going to Macedonia, remain at Ephesus so that you may charge certain persons not to teach any different doctrine, 4 nor to devote themselves to myths and endless genealogies, which promote speculations rather than the stewardship from God that is by faith.

Because our “lineage” is of the Lord. We have been born of God…born again, into His family; our lineage of faith, is that of Abraham (Genesis Ch.15:5; Romans Ch.4)

5 The aim of our charge is love that issues from a pure heart and a good conscience and a sincere faith.

Which can only come through living and abiding in Christ Jesus 

15 The saying is trustworthy and deserving of full acceptance, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners, of whom I am the foremost.

16 But I received mercy for this reason, that in me, as the foremost, Jesus Christ might display his perfect patience as an example to those who were to believe in him for eternal life. (Romans 6:1-2)

Thus displaying the fullness of the authority behind his Name: Yeshua: The Lord is Salvation.

that by them you may wage the good warfare, 19 holding faith and a good conscience.

Our conscience is key: Even more so now, because we have been born of God and are alive in Christ!

Ch.3

He[e] was manifested in the flesh,
    vindicated[f] by the Spirit, (Romans 8:11)
        seen by angels, (Matthew 28:2-7)
proclaimed among the nations, (Matthew 27:52-53; Acts Ch.2)
    believed on in the world,
        taken up in glory.

4 Now the Spirit expressly says that in later times some will depart from the faith by devoting themselves to deceitful spirits and teachings of demons, 2 through the insincerity of liars whose consciences are seared, 3 who forbid marriage and require abstinence from foods that God created to be received with thanksgiving by those who believe and know the truth.

Describing the Roman Catholic Church 

4 For everything created by God is good, and nothing is to be rejected if it is received with thanksgiving, 5 for it is made holy by the word of God and prayer.

7 Have nothing to do with irreverent, silly myths. Rather train yourself for godliness; 8 for while bodily training is of some value, godliness is of value in every way, as it holds promise for the present life and also for the life to come. 9 The saying is trustworthy and deserving of full acceptance.10 For to this end we toil and strive,[b] because we have our hope set on the living God, who is the Savior of all people, especially of those who believe.

2Timothy 3

10 You, however, have followed my teaching, my conduct, my aim in life, my faith, my patience, my love, my steadfastness, 11 my persecutions and sufferings that happened to me at Antioch, at Iconium, and at Lystra—which persecutions I endured; yet from them all the Lord rescued me.12 Indeed, all who desire to live a godly life in Christ Jesus will be persecuted, 13 while evil people and impostors will go on from bad to worse, deceiving and being deceived.
