Psalms that point to Jesus

While it is daytime, we must do the works of Him who sent Me. Night is coming, when no one can work. (John 9:4)  “Seek the Lord while he may be found; call upon him while he is near; let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts; let him return to the Lord, that he may have compassion on him, and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon. (Isaiah 55:6-7)

Jesus & Moses

“The LORD your God will raise up for you a prophet like me (Moses) from among you, from your brothers—it is to him you shall listen—(Deuteronomy 18:15) How is Moses like Jesus? -  In too many different ways for one Bible study - but this is one particular way that really struck me… Moses… Then the angel of God, who had been leading the people of Israel, moved to the rear of the camp. The pillar of cloud also moved from the front and stood behind them. The cloud settled between the Egyptian and Israelite camps. As darkness fell, the cloud turned to fire, lighting up the night. But the Egyptians and Israelites did not approach each other all night. Then Moses raised his hand over the sea, and the Lord opened up a path through the water with a strong east wind. The wind blew all that night, turning the seabed into dry land. So the people of Israel walked through the middle of the sea on dry ground, with walls of water on each side! (Read Exodus ch.14)                                   ~~

He will come again…

Acts 1:9-11  And when he had said these things, as they were looking on, he was lifted up, and a cloud took him out of their sight. And while they were gazing into heaven as he went, behold, two men stood by them in white robes, and said, “Men of Galilee, why do you stand looking into heaven?  This Jesus, who was taken up from you into heaven, will come in the same way as you saw him go into heaven.”……… Zechariah 14;4  On that day his feet shall stand on the Mount of Olives that lies before Jerusalem on the east, and the Mount of Olives shall be split in two from east to west by a very wide valley, so that one half of the Mount shall move northward, and the other half southward.

So shall they fear The name of the LORD from the west, And His glory from the rising of the sun; When the enemy comes in like a flood, The Spirit of the LORD will lift up a standard against him.  “And a Redeemer will come to Zion, to those in Jacob who turn from transgression,” declares the LORD. Isaiah 59:19-20

For our sake he made him to be sin who knew no sin, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God. 2Corinthians 5:21 (See Numbers 21)

Just as Moses lifted up the snake in the wilderness,so the Son of Man must be lifted up,that everyone who believes may have eternal life in him.” For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.(John3:14-17)   Now is the judgment of this world; now will the ruler of this world be cast out. And I, when I am lifted up from the earth, will draw all people to myself.” He said this to show by what kind of death he was going to die. (John 12:31-32)   Now is the time to look to the Cross - for healing, for deliverance - for Salvation! And this is the ONLY Place…and He is the ONLY Way to be saved - from sin and its consequences…from judgment…from Hell! (Acts 4:12) Read Numbers ch. 21

“The hour has come for the Son of Man to be glorified. Truly, truly, I say to you, unless a grain of wheat falls into the earth and dies, it remains alone; but if it dies, it bears much fruit.  Whoever loves his life loses it, and whoever hates his life in this world will keep it for eternal life. If anyone serves me, he must follow me; and where I am, there will my servant be also. If anyone serves me, the Father will honor him. “Now is my soul troubled. And what shall I say? ‘Father, save me from this hour’? But for this purpose I have come to this hour. Father, glorify your name.” Then a voice came from heaven: “I have glorified it, and I will glorify it again.” John 12:23-28
