 Psalm 150 #biblestudy

***At the renewal of all things (Matthew 19:28)…

When Israel will see the victory…

When Israel will see Messiah…

And when Jew and Gentile become one new man, under One Head - Yeshua…

Imagine this…can you hear the crescendo of worship…coming from everywhere…

And we are a part of it! 

This is our hope!***


vs.1 Praise the Lord!

Praise God in his sanctuary;

    praise him in his mighty heavens!


vs.2 Praise him for his mighty deeds;

    praise him according to his excellent greatness!


vs.3 Praise him with trumpet sound;

    praise him with lute and harp!


vs.4 Praise him with tambourine and dance;

    praise him with strings and pipe!


vs.5 Praise him with sounding cymbals;

    praise him with loud clashing cymbals!


vs.6 Let everything that has breath praise the Lord!

Praise the Lord!


Note: For anyone who has been following this #psalmsofdavid series, I hope it has blessed you…and that, whenever you read the psalms in future, you will view them as so much more than just poetry.

 Why do we trust in the blood of Jesus?...

i.  It is by the Blood that the Lord God made an everlasting covenant with us, to save us from death, hell & the grave. (Genesis 3:15 & 21; Gen22:1-18; Matt26:28)


ii.  It is by the Blood that God made a promise that in the Day of Reckoning, He would pass over/over-shadow us, so the destroyer could not touch us (Exodus12:1-30; Luke22:14-20)


iii.  It is by the Blood that God, through a New Covenant, pours forth Mercy upon us instead of judgement. (Genesis 4:10-11; Hebrews 12:18-24)


iv.  It is by the Blood that God forgives and removes all our sins, choosing to remember them no more, and thus, saves us from Death, Hell & the grave.(Psalm103:12; Hebrews 8:12); for without the shedding of blood, there can be no forgiveness of sin. (Hebrews9:22)


v.  It is by the Blood that we live, move and have our being in His Resurrection Life - because the life of a person is in the blood (Lev17:11; Deut 12:23)....This means that the Life of Christ Jesus is in His Blood...so how much more will this Resurrection Life  save us when we apply it to every fiber, every cell of our bodies? (John6:53-56)


vi.  It is by The Blood that we have no fear, but with confidence, can place our lives, our families, friends, homes, even our very identities, under its covering.


***It is by His Blood that we are Saved...and even if everything else caves in, His Salvation lasts eternally...and this is all that matters!***

149 Praise the Lord!

Sing to the Lord a new song,

    his praise in the assembly of the godly!


***This “New Song” will come from the assembly of the first born, whose names are written in Heaven…this “High Praise” from the Holy Mountain that will be established during Messiah’s millennial reign…when “all of Israel shall be saved”

vs.2 Let Israel be glad in his Maker;

    let the children of Zion rejoice in their King!

***They will recognize Yeshua as Messiah…and receive Him when He comes again:

    making melody to him with tambourine and lyre!

vs.4 For the Lord takes pleasure in his people;

    he adorns the humble with salvation.

***Implying a state of peace and safety

vs.6 Let the high praises of God be in their throats

***The place where meekness and godliness will be exalted…and wickedness and pride will be punished…where, like the people of Nehemiah’s day, the people of God will build up with one hand and tear down with the other

Psalm 148 Praise the Lord!

David’s vision of victory, cont.


1 Praise the Lord from the heavens;

   Praise him! - in the heights!

2 Praise him! - all his angels;

   Praise him! - all his hosts!

3 Praise him! - sun and moon,

   Praise him! - all you shining stars!

4 Praise him! - you highest heavens,

    and you waters above the heavens!


***The strength…the unity…the healing…the joy…the peace…the freedom…

that sound, at the end of all time…

of a creation liberated and resurrected by its Creator;

that sound, at the end of all time…

which we will be a part of. 

Hallelujah! 

(Romans 8:20-22)***


5 Let them praise the name of the Lord!

    For he commanded and they were created.

6 And he established them forever and ever;

    he gave a decree, and it shall not pass away.


*** Col 1:16-17 For by him all things were created, in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities—all things were created through him and for him. And he is before all things, and in him all things hold together. 

To acknowledge that Jesus Christ is in fact God…and that God is LORD and Creator - of everything…is the absolute foundation of all other knowledge (Proverbs 1:7)***


Psalm 148 cont.

7 Praise the Lord from the earth,

    you great sea creatures and all deeps,

8 fire and hail, snow and mist,

    stormy wind fulfilling his word!

***Possibly a reference to the forces of tribulation in Matthew 24:30-31 & Revelation 7***


9 Mountains and all hills,

    fruit trees and all cedars!

10 Beasts and all livestock,

    creeping things and flying birds!


11 Kings of the earth and all peoples,

    princes and all rulers of the earth!

12 Young men and maidens together,

    old men and children!


***because we have been given this earth on loan…it’s elements on lease from The Lord…and it’s expiry date is coming!

…And yet - “the creation waits with eager longing for the revealing of the sons of God.” 

(Romans 8:19, 23-24)***



13 Let them praise the name of the Lord,

    for his name alone is exalted;

    his majesty is above earth and heaven.

***A message that will resonate into the third temple (millennial) era…at the renewal of all things (Matthew 19:28)***


14 He has raised up a horn for his people,

    praise for all his saints,

    for the people of Israel who are near to him.

***In the end, He will defend His chosen people…and save all who cry out to Him for mercy.***

17 He hurls down his crystals of ice like crumbs;

***See Isaiah 57:17-19: God is forever merciful to His people, even though they do not deserve it…and through the shed blood of Messiah, that same mercy also extends to us.***

    his statutes and rules to Israel.

20 He has not dealt thus with any other nation;

    they do not know his rules.

***At the end, this battle will be between only 2 nations - the nation of Israel and Mystery Babylon (what we call “the deep state”)

Psalm 147 - Part I

 Psalm 147 Part 1

David’s songs of victory continue…

Praise the Lord!

For it is good to sing praises to our God;

    for it is pleasant, and a song of praise is fitting.

vs2 The Lord builds up Jerusalem;

    he gathers the outcasts of Israel.


***David’s hope is in the resurrection of the dead (Psalm 16:9-11)…His hope is in the restoration of Israel (Jeremiah 29:12-14)…in the renewal of all things - when all Israel will be saved 

(Micah 4:1-5; Romans 11:25-26)***


vs3 He heals the brokenhearted

    and binds up their wounds.

(Micah 4:6-7)

vs4 He determines the number of the stars;

    he gives to all of them their names.


***See Genesis 22:17 - 

A beautiful picture of the Ecclesia…the redeemed of The Lord, whom He knows - each one - intimately, by name.

And, just as He determines the number of stars, there is also:

a number of Gentiles which must come in (Romans 11:25);

a number of believers to be martyred (Revelation 6:10-11); 

a number of Jews to be commissioned (Revelation 7:1-8)

and an entire nation to be saved (Romans 11:26)... 

How many these numbers amount to, we do not know…What we do know is that it is a multitude beyond number! Genesis ch.15:5; ch.32:12; 

Revelation 7:9-11***


vs5 Great is our Lord, and abundant in power;

    his understanding is beyond measure.

Psalm 131


vs6 The Lord lifts up the humble;

    he casts the wicked to the ground.

Revelation ch.15:1-4 & ch.18


vs7 Sing to the Lord with thanksgiving;

    make melody to our God on the lyre!


***One of the most important things we learn from David, is the fundamentals of worship: Praise and thanksgiving!***


vs8 

HE covers the heavens with clouds;

HE prepares rain for the earth;

HE makes grass grow on the hills.

vs9 

HE gives to the beasts their food,

    and to the young ravens that cry.


***A Christian’s belief, that God is their Savior, must first be built upon the fundamental belief that God is The Creator - Genesis ch. 1-3. If we do not understand who The God of Genesis is, we cannot truly understand who The Lord Jesus Christ is.***


vs10 His delight is not in the strength of the horse,

    nor his pleasure in the legs of a man,

(David knows this too well…see 1Samuel 17:45-47)


vs11 but the Lord takes pleasure in those who fear him,

    in those who hope in his steadfast love.


*** To put our hope in ourselves rather than God is a path that leads to idolatry and destruction…as David well knows (Psalm 27:14) 

This was Israel’s folly in Exodus ch.32…

King Saul’s folly in 1Samuel ch.13…

It has been humanity’s folly from the beginning (Genesis 11:1-9)…

and will be at the end (Revelation 9:20-21).

But to put our hope in The Lord…to wait for Him…no matter how hard it gets…is the highest form of worship - 

Matthew 24:12-13; 

Acts 1:4-5; 

Revelation 6:8-11***

Why Fast?

 Why do we fast?

To get God’s attention…to bend His Arm…to earn His favor…?

No: Through the Cross of Jesus Christ, we already have all of this.

So why then do we fast?

To refine us - For the Lord to teach us that “man does not live by bread alone, but by every Word of God”…That we would not look to things of this world (what we see,hear, taste, smell, touch) to sustain us, but that we would look to Jesus Christ - who is The Word…our manna from Heaven.

(2Cor 4:18; John6:25-58)


To refocus us - That our attention would not be on the things of this world to satisfy us…but to the things of God . Because the things of this world are passing away, but the things of God are eternal.

(1John2:15-17)


To reprogram us - That we would not be controlled by every demand and desire of the flesh, but that we would be controlled by the Spirit, turning to God as our first and only source.

(Romans 8:5-11)


To humble us - To get our attention back to the Sacrifice of His Son…for His Glory. “And I fed you with manna- a food neither you, nor your ancestors knew” (Deuteronomy. 8:3) … in other words, their survival in the wilderness had absolutely NOTHING to do with them…they were not their own saviors - YHWH was their Savior…and this was humbling. 


We must learn the same thing (there can be no celebrities in the Body of Christ). Revival is not going to come from any person…it will come from God…so let EVERY person seek God and His Kingdom FIRST! 


Whenever the Lord raises up prophets in the Body of Christ, it is to bring His people back to following HIM…not to following the prophet! Unfortunately, this is exactly what is happening. We need to stop looking to people. Because there is nothing we could ever do to earn or deserve anything He gives us! The sooner we realize this, the sooner we will be ready for revival…where all our pride and presumption will have been burned off…


Because 

The Lord will bring an awakening, different to anything we have ever known before…to bring in such a harvest of souls that will be beyond our comprehension…and 

HE DOES NOT NEED OUR INTERFERENCE! - 

He requires our obedience! Please God help us! 


What Israel went through in the desert - learning how to “worship God” with virtually nothing to help or sustain them, except Him - was a type of fast: And I believe God is calling us the same way…to lay down everything and everyone we are looking to and relying on (this is a form of idolatry)…and with empty hands and open hearts, repent and return to our First Love.


So yes…if we’re serious about revival, I believe we have to fast - Not for God’s benefit…but for ours!

The Lamb’s Book of Life

 Luke10: 17 The seventy-two returned with joy, saying, “Lord, even the demons are subject to us in your name!” 18 And he said to them, “I saw Satan fall like lightning from heaven. 19 Behold, I have given you authority to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall hurt you. 


But what Jesus says to his disciples next, is the ONLY thing that really matters….this is our FOUNDATION…from which the Bride of Christ must - and will arise. Once we learn to do THIS 👇…everything else will flow 


vs. 20 Nevertheless, do not rejoice in this, that the spirits are subject to you, but rejoice that your names are written in heaven.”

Psalm 145

Psalm 145 Part 2


David continues to describe the millennial reign of Christ…


vs.10 All your works shall give thanks to you, O Lord,

    and all your saints shall bless you!


vs.11 They shall speak of the glory of your kingdom

    and tell of your power,

vs.12 to make known to the children of man your mighty deeds, (See vs.4)

    and the glorious splendor of your kingdom.

vs.13 Your kingdom is an everlasting kingdom,

    and your dominion endures throughout all generations.

[The Lord is faithful in all his words

    and kind in all his works.]


***And, believing on the resurrection of the dead, 1000 years before it will occur, David knows he will be there: 

Isaiah 2:1-4


vs.14 The Lord upholds all who are falling

    and raises up all who are bowed down.


***This is why, in this season of harsh oppression and injustice, we need to “encourage ourselves in the Lord”…and each other: There is great joy ahead!

vs.15 The eyes of all look to YOU,

    and YOU give them their food in due season.

***Finally, the whole earth will acknowledge “The Lord, He is God”***

***The time is coming…and is already here…when we will have to trust in the Lord - for everything***


vs.17 The Lord is righteous in all his ways

    and kind in all his works.

Walking on the water

 Large crowds came to Him in the desert (the hard place)

But…

who was able to come to Him on the water? 

(the impossible place)

For whoever would save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for my sake will find it. (Matt16:25)


Psalm 145

 A Song of Praise. Of David.


Psalm 145 

Part 1

vs.1 I will extol you, my God and King,

    and bless your name forever and ever.

vs.2 Every day I will bless you

    and praise your name forever and ever…


Forever?…How?

David has seen from afar ✝️ the resurrection of the dead…he has also believed…and this is how he can now declare  with confidence that…

”my flesh also dwells secure.

For you will not abandon my soul to Sheol,

    or let your holy one see corruption.” 


This is why he says…

“My heart is glad, and my whole being rejoices;

(Read Psalm 16:9-11)

   


vs.3 Great is the Lord, and greatly to be praised,

    and his greatness is unsearchable.

vs.4 One generation shall commend your works to another,

    and shall declare your mighty acts…


How?…

Deuteronomy ch.6:5-7

Psalm 71:17


vs.5 On the glorious splendor of your majesty,

    and on your wondrous works, I will meditate.


vs.6 They (all generations) shall speak of the might of your awesome deeds,

    and I will declare your greatness…

***When we do this…when we boldly and with confidence, declare the redemption of the Lord to the generations…of whatever portion of the earth we have been dealt…we, like David, are also helping to shape history…and in the only way that really matters - the Way of Salvation***


vs.7 They shall pour forth the fame of your abundant goodness

    and shall sing aloud of your righteousness. 🎉🎺🎉


***Why? Because the Lord has made Atonement…not only for Israel, but the nations of the earth.

This is the celebration of the Cross.***


vs.8 The Lord is gracious and merciful,

    slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love.

vs.9 The Lord is good to all,

    and his mercy is over all that he has made.

Psalm 144

This first of David’s victory psalms - a song of trust and surrender.


Psalm 144 

vs.1 Blessed be the Lord, my rock,

    who trains my hands for war,

    and my fingers for battle;


***David remembers to whom the battle belongs…and Who it is that fights for him (1Samuel17:45-47)***


vs.2 HE…is my steadfast love and my fortress,

    my stronghold and my deliverer,

my shield and he in whom I take refuge,

    who subdues peoples under me.

vs.3 O Lord, what is man that you regard him,

    or the son of man that you think of him?

vs.4 Man is like a breath;

    his days are like a passing shadow.


***To put this in David’s words: “Who am I, and what have I done, that you would honor me so?”

vs.5 Bow your heavens, O Lord, and come down!

    Touch the mountains so that they smoke!

vs.6 Flash forth the lightning and scatter them;

    send out your arrows and rout them!

***This is exactly what will happen -

vs.7 Stretch out your hand from on high;

    rescue me and deliver me from the many waters,

    from the hand of foreigners,

vs.8 whose mouths speak lies

    and whose right hand is a right hand of falsehood.


***Is David speaking only for himself…

or, as the king of Israel, is he seeing prophetically…of Israel’s miraculous deliverance by the Hand of God…even at the very end?

Hallelujah!***


vs.9 I will sing a new song to you, O God;

    upon a ten-stringed harp I will play to you,

vs.10 who gives victory to kings,

    who rescues David his servant from the cruel sword.


vs.11 Rescue me and deliver me

    from the hand of foreigners,

whose mouths speak lies

    and whose right hand is a right hand of falsehood.

(Revelation 21:8)


vs.12 May our sons in their youth

    be like plants full grown,

our daughters like corner pillars

    cut for the structure of a palace;

vs.13 may our granaries be full,

    providing all kinds of produce;

may our sheep bring forth thousands

    and ten thousands in our fields;

vs.14 may our cattle be heavy with young,

    suffering no mishap or failure in bearing;

may there be no cry of distress in our streets!

***Because David knows that in the end, God Himself will deliver Israel…from ALL her enemies - 

And that, as promised, one of his descendants (Yeshua) will sit on the throne…forever!


This is why, in the face of great adversity, he still speaks today, exhorting us, earnestly and with firm assurance, to…

“Wait for the Lord;

    be strong, and let your heart take courage;

         Wait for the Lord! (Psalm 27:14)***


vs.15 Blessed are the people to whom such blessings fall!

    Blessed are the people whose God is the Lord!

Separated unto The Lord

 Matthew 10

28 And do not fear those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. Rather fear him who can destroy both soul and body in hell.

29 Are not two sparrows sold for a penny? And not one of them will fall to the ground apart from your Father. 

30 But even the hairs of your head are all numbered. 

31 Fear not, therefore; you are of more value than many sparrows. 

32 So everyone who acknowledges me before men, I also will acknowledge before my Father who is in heaven, 

33 but whoever denies me before men, I also will deny before my Father who is in heaven.

***Read Matthew 5:9-12***


34 “Do not think that I have come to bring peace to the earth. I have not come to bring peace, but a sword. 

35 For I have come to set a man against his father, and a daughter against her mother, and a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law. 

36 And a person's enemies will be those of his own household. 


***Light must be separated from darkness otherwise how could it ever be recognized as Light.  Do we want our families saved? Yes!  

But before there can be any reconciliation between sinful men, a person must first be reconciled and set apart completely to the sinless and Holy God…This means we must step over the line and separate ourselves solely unto Him…

Holding nothing back, and forsaking everything and everyone else…

Still living in the world, but no longer of the world. 

Offensive?…Yes - 

But this is how we are sanctified…

This is how we are able let our lights shine before our families…friends…enemies…even in the face of  persecution. (I speak from first hand experience)***

John 17


37 Whoever loves father or mother more than me is not worthy of me, and whoever loves son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me. 38 And whoever does not take his cross and follow me is not worthy of me. 39 Whoever finds his life will lose it, and whoever loses his life for my sake will find it.

40 “Whoever receives you receives me, and whoever receives me receives him who sent me. 


***Note: These instructions were given to Jesus’s closest followers - The Twelve. These same instructions apply to all of us who also desire to be Jesus’s disciples and to follow Him closely.***


Lord, it is the final hour…and we cannot perch on the fence any longer. Please make Your Bride ready…and if it takes persecution - so be it…because you love us!

Psalm 146

Psalm 146 Praise the Lord!

Praise the Lord, O my soul!

2 I will praise the Lord as long as I live;

    I will sing praises to my God while I have my being.


***One of David’s psalms of victory. He has learned…because at some point in his trials, God has opened his eyes…and now he sees the defeat of his enemies. Why? Because now he sees The Lord who is his Salvation = Yeshua!✝️


3 Put not your trust in princes,

    in a son of man, in whom there is no salvation.

(Proverbs 11:3)


4 When his breath departs, he returns to the earth; (Psalm 103:15-16; Isaiah 40:6-8)

    on that very day his plans perish. 

(Luke12:13-34)


5 Blessed is he whose help is the God of Jacob,

(Psalm 143:7-12)

    whose hope is in the Lord his God,


6 who made heaven and earth,

    the sea, and all that is in them,

(Genesis 1; Isaiah 40:12-31)

who keeps faith forever;

(Isaiah 40:9:11)


***from this point onwards, David will prophecy of his descendant - The Son Of David, who is Messiah***


vs.7  who executes justice for the oppressed,

    who gives food to the hungry.

The Lord sets the prisoners free;

(Luke 8:26-39)

***John 11:23-44…A foreshadowing of Jesus’s resurrection;***

***Matthew 27:45-54…A foreshadowing of our resurrection - 1Thessalonians 4:13-18***


vs.8     the Lord opens the eyes of the blind.

(Luke 18:35-44; John ch. 9)


The Lord lifts up those who are bowed down;

(Luke 7:11-17; John 5:1-9)

***Ultimately, Jesus will lift us all up from the burden of sin: In carrying His OWN cross (John19:17) He will take our sins, and make them His own - 2Corinthians 5:21***


    the Lord loves the righteous.

but the way of the wicked he brings to ruin.

10 The Lord will reign forever,

    your God, O Zion, to all generations.
